Our 3rd Annual conference is coming up soon! October 8 and 9 in Wichita. Classes will include psychological first aid, human first aid, animal first aid, animal sheltering, technical animal rescue, donations and volunteer management and much much more! We are busy writing another grant to the American Veterinary Medical Foundation for funding of animal transport and sheltering equipment! Wish us luck!!

Hi everyone! Our Kansas Veterinary Medical Reserve Corp meeting went very well in Manhattan on the 10th! We had 100 vets and vet techs attend and Dr. Goemann provided lots of information concerning triage, personal preparedness and disaster response! Stay tuned for more veterinary specific training!

Hi there! The next tabletop exercise will be held on July 18, 2009 at MG County Judicial Center Basement, 300 Main Street, Independence Kansas. This exercise will be for residents of the Southeast region only, including Greenwood, Elk, Chautaqua, Woodson, Montgomery, Wilson, Crawford, Bourbon, Labette, Cherokee, Allen and Neosho counties. Emergency Managers, Red Cross, vets/techs, shelter workers/humane society personnel, etc are encouraged to attend! This will be available on kstrain soon and more details will follow!
